2002: R.C. “Dick” Rowe, Chairman and President, Indmar
Dick Rowe
For over 50 years, Dick Rowe has committed himself to the recreational marine industry, providing industry leadership through product development, legislative advocacy and his 30-year relationship with NMMA. Thanks to Mr. Rowe’s guidance INDMAR is the world’s largest manufacturer of gasoline inboard engines, operating state-of-the art plants.
An active participant in the industry’s annual Legislative Conference for over 20 years, Dick has helped influence State and Federal legislation ensuring appropriate marine industry regulation well past 2010.
Dick has personally donated engines for use in the Southwest Research testing programs for proper emissions rules development: industry and government leaders credit him with involving the USCG, the EPA and the California Air Resources Board (CARB), in developing reasonable regulations regarding catalytic converters and other emissions controls. One of the initial supporters of NMMA PAC, he frequently represents NMMA and his industry colleagues on government issues, nationally and abroad.
